The AutoBond® construction was designed to eliminate the "leakage path through wire" often found in autoclave applications when traditional wire constructions are employed. This construction is available with either 400°F (204°C) FEP Teflon® insulation or 500°F (260°C) PFA Teflon® insulation.
The color-coded, insulated singles are bonded together in a proprietary process, eliminating the need for a conventional jacket. With no outer jacket to strip back, the conductors are easily separated (yet firmly attached), retain their small size/weight configuration, and will not kink or knot in handling. The exceptional characteristics of Teflon®, with a low coefficient of friction, and excellent resistance to moisture and chemicals further enhance AutoBond® construction capabilities.
For detailed information on the various thermocouple types, insulation properties, gauge sizes, and wire weights see our Technical Data catalog.
