Single conductors are carefully selected and matched to meet or exceed ANSI MC96.1-1982 tolerances. Each conductor is insulated with 8 mils nominal, 400°F (204°C) flame resistant and low smoke FEP to insure insulation integrity. Matched pairs are twisted to reduce the amount of electromagnetic interference.
The twisted pairs are cabled and a polyester backed aluminum shield with a tinned copper drain is helically applied to further reduce electrostatic noise. The shield overlaps approximately 25% to assure continual coverage during flexing.
This style includes an insulated communication wire to transmit telephone or other signals during installation or service.
A rugged 400°F (204°C) flame resistant and low smoke FEP jacket is applied over the pairs for excellent resistance to most corrosive substances, lubricants, and weathering. This construction simplifies installation in cable trays and conduit due to its properties of low friction, good flexibility, and mechanical strength.
The entire construction is color coded according to ANSI MC96.1-1982 to aid in quick identification of both polarity and calibration.
