This construction is designed for signal transmission applications which are susceptible to electrostatic noise or interference.
Each conductor is insulated with a 15 mil nominal wall of 221°F (105°C) FR PVC compound to insure insulation integrity. The matched pairs are twisted together with a tinned copper drain wire and a polyester backed aluminum shield is helically applied prior to the jacketing process. A rugged 221°F (105°C) FR PVC jacket provides excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, weather, moisture, oils and mechanical abrasion.
This construction is available as either a 300 volt UL approved power limited tray cable or in a non-UL approved version. Both constructions are color-coded according to ANSI MC-96.1-1982 to aid in identification of both polarity and calibration.
