The DM440 is a battery powered indicator mounted directly to a Pt100 temperature sensor.
Sealed to IP67, the DM440 can safely be situated in the process area where hosing down is a regular event.
The DM440 uses standard alkaline batteries and provides up to 2.25 years battery life. The extended battery
life is provided by putting the electronics into 'Sleep' mode for most of the time, waking it up periodically
in order to capture a new reading. The display is maintained continuously. Sleep time is link selectable at 6
seconds or 12 seconds providing 1.5 or 2.25 years battery life respectively.
Being microprocessor based, the indicator has certain 'Smart' features, the most significant being automatic
self calibration. During each measurement, the resistance of the Pt100 probe is compared to a standard high stability
resistor, the microprocessor calculating the temperature from the ratio of the two resistances.
This means that both the short and long term stability of the instrument is determined solely by a single high accuracy,
high stability resistor (patent applied for). The microprocessor also provides the ability to select the display °C or °F by changing an internal link.
A wide selection of compatible sensor assemblies are available with various immersion lengths and process connections.
One version has been specially designed to replace mercury and glass thermometers in retorts.
The use of 316 stainless steel for the sensors, ABS for the housing and IP67 sealing is ideal for food industry applications.
The indicator can be mounted either in line with or at right angles to the sensor to give the best viewing position.
Alternatively, the indicator can be remotely mounted in a convenient location on a wall or panel.
