This simple wire type thermocouple is available in ISA Thermocouple Types "T", "J", and "K". Popular styles use stranded or solid wire of gauge size 20 AWG or 24 AWG. Insulation is normally Fiberglass or Teflon®, but other options are available as well. The cold end can have split leads (with or without spade lugs, a BX connector is optional) or a standard plug/jack or a mini plug/jack for connecting to instrumentation.
